Donaghadee Lifeboat

School road safety winners visit station

Pupils from Dunmurray primary school were welcomed to Donaghadee lifeboat station last Tuesday by members of the station. The children were the winners of a road safety competition organised by  Dunmurray neighbourhood police.

The children enjoyed a talk on sea safety by education officer Liz Brown and her husband Jim, and were then given a tour of the station and lifeboat by Murdoch Bennett (DLA) and Peter Alcock (LPO).

The safety campaign has been running for over twenty years and has links with Belmont school in Stranraer. The pupils before leaving for a visit to Bangor coastguard received a bag of lifeboat goodies. The children were accompanied by constables Burns, Whoriskey and Parker.
